Crystal Plaster - the painkiller
Background

Piezoelectric charge

The human body contain a variety of nerve pathways, these include A-alfa, A-beta and C-pathways. Each type of nerve pathway has a specific function and operate in varying speeds. The nerve pathways that control muscles for example are the fast A-alfa nerve pathways whilst most aches flow trough the slower C-pathways.
Researchers Patrick Wall and Ronald Melzack (1965) developed the “gate way” theory of human pain which is today accepted all over the world and is heavily used for pain reduction. In short the theory is based on the idea that through stimulation of certain A-beta neural pathways a “gate” is closed in the vertebrae and the pain impulses from the C-pathways cannot reach the brain and therefore pain is relieved.
Small crystal within the Crystal Plaster generates a Piezoelectric charge. The Piezoelectric charge stimulates the A-beta pathways in the pained area so the pain impulses that flow through the C-pathways are stopped in the dorsal horn and the pain signals can not reach the brain. This method of pain relief is non invasive, or harmful. A treatment which is based on the same theory to this is the Transcutan Electric Nerve Stimulation (TENS) which is used in most pain clinics around the world.

When can I use Crystal Plasters?

The Crystal Plaster alleviates only Nociseptic pain (aches) which can occur to inflammation, pressure injuries, burns, cuts or after operations. The same slow and nagging aches is also common in rheumatism, repetition injuries and strains. It is important to understand that Crystal Plasters should be used only as a pain relief, and should not be considered a cure for the cause of pains and aches. It is important to seek medical help to identify the cause of your pains and aches prior to using Crystal Plasters to relieve aches.
CAUTION: always consult a doctor if you experience prolonged pains and / or aches.

Roots in folk remedies

Inadvertently, people have been using Piezoelectric pain relief in different forms for ages. For example, stinging nettle has been used as a folk remedy for pain relief for hundred of years. It has since been discovered that stinging nettles have Piezoelectric properties, just like the crystals in the Crystal Plasters. The pain relieving effect of the stinging nettles, have been proven scientifically in double blind tests.1)
